Your Life Story: Whatcha Gonna Do? Write Your Life Story NOW before Its Too Late!

Imagine this scene: Project yourself into the future. You are 87 years old and sitting on the couch in the living room of your house. Sitting around you are your grand children and their children too. The smaller ones and maybe even some of the older ones ask you to tell them a story. They enjoy your stories. And of course you are more than happy to oblige them. Then after all, this is your family! Your offspring! You've told them many stories over the years. This time, however, they want you to tell them a different story. The story they want to hear this time, and everyone seems particularly primed to hear, is the story of your life. They are all waiting eagerly for you to begin.

NOW. Take a moment and think about this scene?

What will you say? Or a MUCH better question is: What would you LIKE to be able to say? Now when you are thinking about this, think about what you would REALLY LIKE TO BE ABLE TO SAY. Not what you think it would be possible for you to be able to say. Am I making myself clear? For example, instead of something like: you worked at a job that you didn't like for 40 years, saved some money, weren't able to take many extravagant vacations like you would like to have taken, bought a house and just basically lived a modest life as a responsible citizen, maybe you'd like to say something else. Maybe you'd like to say that at your current age; 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, or whatever it is, that you changed your life. In other words, WHAT WOULD YOU REALLY LIKE TO BE ABLE TO SAY when that time rolls around for you to tell that story?

Do you have some ideas? Isn't that a nice thought?

Now here's another question for you. How do you think you will feel when you are in your 80's KNOWING that you continued to live the life you are currently living, knowing that there was something deep inside of you that you really would rather have done and never did it? Something that could have made you so happy and you didn't have the nerve to try it? Something that you would loved to have done, but didn't have the courage to give it a shot. Something that could have dramatically improved your quality of life in many respects and you didn't BELIEVE that you could do it, so you just kept on doing what you were doing, because that was the "safe" thing to do, or so you thought.

Some people believe that we, like cats, have seven lives. That when we die, we will come back and have another shot at "it". Some people believe that once you begin your course in life, that one must stay on that course until the end, no matter how good or bad it is. Some people believe that they were meant to do something in life and that there is nothing else in "the script" but that. Some people believe that success is for other people and not for themselves.

What do you think the answer would be if you asked 10 people the questions I asked you in this article and if they are truly happy with their lives currently? Let me tell you. 7 out of 10 will tell you, if they are honest with themselves, that they are not truely happy or that they are not enjoying the succes they would like. And when you ask them what they would like to do instead, many will tell you that they do not know what they would rather do, but they can spend 15 minutes telling you what it is that they don't like about their current situation. Sound familiar?

Let me tell you something folks: IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY! It really doesn't!

Just like there are many people who are not happy with different aspects of their lives, there is a small percentage of people who LOVE what they do as an occupation, they are happy with many aspects of their lives. When they get up in the morning to go to work, they are excited and energized. When was the last time you felt that way about going to work? When was the last time you just felt good about the direction your life has taken?

The bottom line is, there are millions of people in this world who are fortunate enough to know what makes them happy and to be doing it every day. So, why can't you be one of those people?

A long time ago, someone said that "The best way to predict your future is to create it."

And Henry Ford once said that "Those who believe they can and those who believe they can't are both right."

And finally someone else once taught us the inevitable truth, that says that "If we continue to do the same things we've always done, we can only expect to get the same results."

Finding out what it is that you really want out of your life instead of just going through the motions is such a good feeling and it is easier than you think! Getting to the point where you really KNOW that you are on the right path to achieving what you want and to living the life you want to live IS possible. Wouldn't you like to experience that? So the only question left now is:

"What'cha Gonna Do?"
